Canada offers four different types of study visas for individuals interested in pursuing their education in the country:

Canada SX-1: Exemption from The Requirement to Apply for A Student Study Visa. With the SX-1 exemption, you can pursue your studies in Canada without the need for a student visa. If you meet the criteria, you may qualify for this exemption. It applies to citizens of countries with visa exemption agreements with Canada or members of specific organizations, like the United Nations.

 

Post-Graduation Work Permit

 

The Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) in Canada allows international students who have completed a full-time program at a designated learning institution to work in Canada.

  • Eligible graduates can apply for a PGWP within 180 days of receiving their final marks.

  • The permit is typically issued for the same duration as the study program, up to a maximum of three years.

    The DLI may be named as the institution that issued the Letter of Acceptance when the study permit is issued. However, other institutions may be listed in the Remarks section of the study permit.
